Sassy Renewal Bedroom | Case Study | Creating Spaces

Pink handleless kitchen, Scotland

This apartment needed a full renovation to fit in everything our customer wanted. Originally in the 2 bedroom apartment as you walked in was a very small room that couldn’t fit a single bed in plus a bedroom which was a very awkward shape.

When walking into the apartment our customer wanted to walk into the kitchen and living space area, then through to the 2 bedrooms and bathroom. To make this work we had to knock out the very small room wall which then created an area for us to build the new kitchen. Then what was the old kitchen we ripped out and built a stud wall which then created us an area to have the living space in, but also behind that wall was then a bedroom big enough for a desk area and bunk beds for the children. Going into the main bedroom then we adapted the awkward shape and built sliding wardrobes across the area so this was hidden but yet created storage.

Brief

The space had to be utilised to it’s maximum on this project, for example a Larder unit was converted into a cupboard in the kitchen for coats and rotated to face the exterior door and back on to the kitchen whilst still looking great. A great contrast of colours with the graphite and blush, accompanied with striking black Dolce Smeg appliances with copper trims sets this kitchen off! The 20mm Grey Mirror Quartz worktops with under LED lighting adds to the wow factor!

Project

We created a media unit opposite to keep the continuity in this open plan space which also adds valuable storage.

In the kids bedroom we had a cupboard utilised to hide the boiler, and cleverly used the space underneath as a separate storage cupboard. We then integrated a desk into the same area for some study / work space. We opted for a light grey gloss unit which reflects the light well in a smaller space.

In the main bedroom as mentioned there was an awkward angled wall to contend with – this was overcome by fitting bespoke shelving and installing sliding doors in front. The colours were a stylish combination of Mali Wenge Panels & Bronze Mirror accompanied with an olive frame.

Absolutely loving my new kitchen and media units. Can’t thank everyone at Creating Spaces enough. From the design and planning, right through to completion – everything was first class!

I would highly recommend you to everyone. A huge thanks from a very satisfied customer!
